Thurgoland Hedgehog Survey – can you help?

Hedgehog survey tunnelWe are hoping to find out how many hedgehogs there are in Thurgoland by placing these above ground tunnels, which are just over one metre long, in the gardens of volunteers for five days during the week beginning 9th May. We have some volunteers already but we need ten altogether for the project to go ahead.

A demonstration of hedgehog tunnels will be held in the Snug at the Green Dragon Public House on Thursday 5th May at 7pm. Please let us know if you are interested or can suggest someone who might be. Everyone is welcome, drop in and find out more about the Thurgoland survey and the Hogwatch project.

Ever since we did the Thurgoland survey in May there has only been 6 different days when we haven’t had a Hedgehog inour garden, and looking at some prints it looks like one adult and one juvenile seen on the front and the back garden, it’s now 19th Sep. I’m wondering when there going to hibernate ?
